Why carbon measurement matters
Events can have a significant environmental impact, from travel and accommodation to catering and waste. By calculating your carbon footprint, you can identify areas to reduce emissions and make greener decisions without compromising on quality.
How the EcoSmart Portal works
The process is simple:
- Enter your event details – number of delegates, duration, accommodation, catering, and travel
- Generate your carbon rating – the portal uses government averages and verified data to calculate your event’s footprint
- Take action – start by taking action to lower your emissions as a company, such as offsetting or changing travel arrangements
Here’s an example of how the EcoSmart Impact Portal works in practice…
Event details:
Delegates: 50
Duration: 2 days
Accommodation: Overnight stays included
Meals: Light lunch (meat) for both days, breakfast, and evening meal
Travel: 60 miles per delegate, split 50/50 across diesel and petrol
