It’s B Corp month! Let’s celebrate our impact at Edgbaston Park Hotel

March marks B Corp month, and almost our first anniversary since we were delighted to be awarded our own B Corp accreditation. This month is all about transparency and showing the real actions behind our commitments. Here’s a look at what we’ve achieved together over the last 12 months…

Supporting our community

Giving back is at the heart of how we work, and this year we’re proud to have supported St Basils, our 2025 Charity of the Year, who help to support young people at risk of homelessness.

Our 2025 impact

We’re also excited to introduce our 2026 charity partner, Bfriends, an independent charity, designed and developed by children in care and care leavers in Birmingham alongside local partners and Trust staff.  We look forward to raising awareness and funds through new initiatives, partnerships and team‑led fundraising.  

Reducing our environmental impact

Sustainability remains one of our top priorities, and this year we’ve continued to embed greener choices into how we host and deliver events. Our Green Meetings Package supports organisers in reducing the environmental footprint of their event.

We’ve now also introduced the EcoSmart Impact Portal, to help event hosts understand and measure the carbon impact of their meeting. Find out more here. Our continued focus on waste reduction, efficient energy use and sustainable menu design, forms part of our long-term journey toward lower-impact hospitality.

Investing in our people

Being a B Corp-accredited hotel means putting people first, and this year, we’ve continued to grow and strengthen the support we offer our team.

Learning and development

We’re committed to helping our people build long, fulfilling careers. Over the past year, we’ve expanded training and development, including:

  • 12‑month Supervisor/Assistant Manager Development Programme
  • 12‑month Leadership Development Programme
  • Virtual reality learning platform for immersive training
  • Wine-tasting sessions
  • Welcome day inductions for all new starters

Wellbeing at work

Supporting mental and physical wellbeing is key to our culture, which is why we’ve invested in:

  • Mental health first aiders
  • Staff appreciation events, including, stress Awareness Day and Random Acts of Kindness Day
  • Payday treats
  • Annual awards night
  • Two volunteering days per colleague
  • Free flu jabs
  • Voluntary health cash plan, including, annual health checks, digital GP services, second medical opinion, mental health consultations and nutritional consultations

Employee benefits

We’ve strengthened our reward package for staff with our discount scheme, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, extra annual leave based on length of service, discounted travel passes and electric car charging and other length of service awards.

These initiatives reflect the belief that looking after our people helps us deliver better experiences for every guest.
