Edgbaston Park Hotel is taking meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future, showcased by our exciting collaboration with Birmingham Brewing Company.
Based just 10 minutes away in Stirchley, Birmingham Brewing Co. offers a range of locally brewed beers that are now proudly served at the hotel. Guests can enjoy Pale Brummie on draught, as well as Sober Brummie (0.5%), Bitter Brummie, and Stirchley Lager in cans.
The hotel’s choice to partner with a local brewer was driven by a desire to support not only high-quality products but also those with a commitment to sustainability.
Here are some key sustainable highlights of Birmingham Brewing Co’s brewing process and business practices:
- All beers are vegan and gluten-free, using an enzyme to clarify the beer instead of fish-derived ingredients, making them better for the environment and easier to enjoy.
- The brewery operates on 100% renewable energy, such as wind and solar power to reduce its environmental impact.
- Brewing waste is repurposed as livestock feed, and all packaging and non-brewing waste are recycled.
- Birmingham Brewing Co. gives back through charity partnerships, including donating 5% of Sober Brummie sales to their current charity partners Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
‘Partnering with Birmingham Brewing Company is a natural fit for us,’ said Julie Crump, Director of Operations at Edgbaston Park Hotel. ‘Their dedication to sustainability aligns perfectly with our own values, and we’re thrilled to offer our guests a taste of exceptional, locally brewed beer that makes a positive impact.’
This partnership underscores the hotel’s commitment to supporting sustainable, local businesses while offering guests a delicious, eco-conscious beer selection.
