Research in residence
2025 marks the 125th anniversary of University of Birmingham – and to celebrate, we’re launching a free lecture series for hotel guests and visitors.
Research in Residence will showcase some of the best research happening right here on our doorstep. You’re invited to join us as we hear from some of University of Birmingham’s brightest minds – all in a relaxed setting.
The series begins with Dr Melanie Jouaiti of University of Birmingham’s School of Computer Science joining us to talk about how artificial intelligence will shape the future of our increasingly digital world:
- Thursday 27 February at 4pm
- Wednesday 26 March at 4pm
- Thursday 8 May at 4pm
The 30-minute lecture will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A session.
Our Research in Residence events are open to all hotel guests and the University of Birmingham community. Complimentary nibbles will be provided, and drinks will be available to purchase at the 1900 Bar.
The first lectures continue the AI Dialogues public exhibition which took place at the University’s city centre venue The Exchange last year.
Please book your place using the form below and selecting the day(s) you’d like to attend.
