We’re incredibly proud to announce that we have scooped two prestigious awards. We won Venue of the Year (under 300 guests) at the prestigious miaList awards, having been up against strong contenders such as Chester Zoo and Crewe Hall. We also took home the title of Independent Hotel of the Year at the Famtastic Awards, showcasing our commitment to excellence in hospitality.  

These accolades celebrate our commitment to exceptional hospitality and sustainability. But what makes us stand out? Here’s a closer look at the achievements behind the awards…

Why we won Venue of the Year

Our success is built on purpose-driven hospitality. In the past 12 months, we’ve:

  • Earned B Corporation certification, joining a global community of businesses that balance profit with purpose
  • Delivered commercial strong results: with positive occupancy and revenue performance growth
  • Hosted over 2,500 events for 65,000 delegates, the best year yet.
  • Achieved a 16% repeat business rate, up 6% from last year, and hosted over 50 weddings.
  • Ranked #10 of 120 hotels in Birmingham on Tripadvisor (as of November 2025) and earned the Travelers’ Choice Award 2025, placing us in the top 10% of hotels worldwide

Our commitment in action

We’re dedicated to sustainability and social impact. Key initiatives include:

  • 100% waste diversion from landfill, with over 34% recycled
  • Launching our Green Meetings Package, offering low-carbon menus and zero-waste event practices
  • Introducing CO₂e-rated menus to help guests make climate-conscious choices.
  • Removing bottled water and installing filtered taps, supporting WaterAid
  • Expanding plant-based options and reducing glass bottle usage from 53% to 15%
  • Funding 711 school lunches for children in coffee-growing regions through our partnership with Paddy & Scott’s
