Spreading Happiness during International Week of Happiness at Work

Sweet surprises for the team at Edgbaston Park Hotel

This week, we took great pride in celebrating workplace happiness at the Hotel! Our senior management team went above and beyond to ensure the recognitions were nothing less than exceptional, treating our fantastic team to delightful, sweet treats throughout the week.

Monday – Biscuit Bliss

The week kicked off with a delicious surprise on Monday, as Director of Operations, Julie, surprised the team with freshly baked biscuits. It was the perfect start to a week filled with happiness.

Tuesday – A Fresh Start

Tuesday brought a healthy twist to the celebrations. Director of Commercial, Billy, treated the team to an array of fresh fruits and refreshing summer berry smoothies. These tasty treats left the team feeling energised and ready to tackle their tasks with enthusiasm.

Wednesday – Warmth in a Cup

Mid-week blues? Not at Edgbaston Park Hotel! On Wednesday, CEO, Richard, greeted the team with a warm and cozy hot drinks station. Coffee lovers enjoyed a cup of coffee, tea enthusiasts enjoyed a cup of English Breakfast tea, and those with a sweet tooth indulged with a hot chocolate topped with marshmallows – adding an extra layer of excitement and sweetness to the day.

Thursday – Doughnut Delight

As the week rolled on, Thursday brought another delightful surprise… doughnuts, strawberries, chocolate, and sweets! The team’s spirits soared when Richard, with a beaming smile, served these sweet treats.

Friday – Community and Compassion

Friday’s event was the icing on the cake. The Volunteering Committee at Edgbaston Park Hotel hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning. It was a heartwarming event that not only celebrated delicious coffee and cakes, but also supported a great cause. The team came together, donated sweet treats, and raised funds for Macmillan Cancer.

International Week of Happiness at Work at Edgbaston Park Hotel was truly a week to remember. It reinforces that happiness isn’t just about the work we do, but also the people we work with and the thoughtful gestures that can make a big difference.

Edgbaston Park Hotel’s Family Fun Day

A heartwarming Family Fun Day for Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust.

A sunny weekend brought together families, friends and colleagues for a delightful event aimed to raise awareness and funds for the Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust. The perfect blend of fun, delicious food, and community spirit made this fundraising day an unforgettable experience for all.

Edgbaston Park Hotel spared no effort in crafting a fantastic entertainment lineup, featuring an array of engaging attractions. From a vibrant DJ playing songs, to a toddler soft play area perfect for the little ones, and an enchanting disco dome bouncy castle that beckoned with excitement. The highlight, however, was the assortment of inflatable challenges, adding an exhilarating dimension to the family fun day. To top it all off, a tasty ice cream van and BBQ station were the perfect treats to enjoy after all the excitement and activities.

We’d like to thank all the local hotels and businesses who kindly donated some fantastic prizes for the raffle at the event. Hosted by our CEO Richard Metcalfe, all raffle proceeds were donated to our charity partners Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust. Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust is a local charity which aims to protect and restore wildlife, as well as preserving nature reserves within Birmingham and the Black Country.

Thriving community spirit was on full display, as Edgbaston Park Hotel’s Family Fun Day raised an incredible £1,000 in support of the Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and contributors to the conservation of our local wildlife habitats.

Sanya Bi, Volunteering Committee member at Edgbaston Park Hotel commented: “Being a part of the team that organised the hotel’s Family Fun Day was an incredibly rewarding experience. We wanted to create an event that not only showed our appreciation for our amazing team but also allowed us to give back to the community through our chosen charity which is the Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust. As a member of the volunteering committee, I was fortunate to contribute to the planning of this special day for our team and their family and friends!”
